âAs part of our efforts to raise funds and awareness, we will be selling our popular raffle tickets again with incredible prizes,â she said. âWe will also turn our store front windows into âWindows of Honorââ with handwritten names of survivors or those currently in the battle and in memory of those who have succumbed.
âWeâve raised one million dollars over the course of four years in support of those diagnosed with breast cancer and in search of a cure,â added Ms Caldwell.
The highlights of the 2007 fundraising efforts include donations to:
*William Raveis Young Investigator Grant presented to Yale University in support of important research.
*Creation of the William Raveis ACS Navigator Care Program at the University of Connecticut Health Center. With the assistance of trained volunteers/survivors, this innovative program helps patients navigate and assists them through the entire diagnosis and treatment process.
*Breast Cancer Alliance, Greenwich.
*Dana-Farber Womenâs Cancers Center, Boston.
*Ray and Carol Neag Comprehensive Cancer Center at the University of Connecticut Health Center, Farmington.
âWe need your help, one in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer within their lifetime,â Ms Caldwell said. âBy making a tax-deductible donation today, you are providing hopeful futures for our loved ones and friends. You may not know someone who has breast cancer now, but you may soon. Letâs give everyone a fighting chance.â
