Ecumenical Workcamp

2009 Info Session & Open House Planned

On Sunday, September 28, at 1 pm, in the Great Room of Newtown Congregational Church, Newtown Ecumenical Workcamp will be holding an informational open house for new and returning campers.

Group Workcamp is an ecumenical gathering of youth from throughout the United States who spend a week each year repairing homes for those in need of assistance. The mission of the Newtown Ecumenical Workcamp Ministry is to help youth gain a closer relationship with God, to provide an opportunity to touch the lives of people in other communities, and to make friends with youth from other areas of the country.

In 2009 the group will spend the week of June 28 to July 4 in Oakland, Md.

Any interested youth is invited to attend the information session and learn about the workcamp experience from veteran campers as well as adult leaders.
