College Financial Aid Program At Bethel Library
College Financial Aid Program At Bethel Library
BETHEL â The Bethel Public library will host a program on saving for and financing college, including speakers from both CHET, Connecticutâs 529 college savings plan, and CSLF, the Connecticut Student Loan Foundation. Learn how Connecticut families may be eligible for a new Connecticut state income tax deduction on contributions made to their CHET account(s) of up $10,000 and how to navigate through the myriad financial options, including grants, loans, and scholarships to determine what combination of aid is right for them. Also, there will be a question and answer period.
This program is recommended for parents of children from birth through high school years, as the first part of the program will cover early childhood savings plans and the second part will cover financial aid options. The program will take place in the Seelye Room of the Bethel Public Library on Wednesday, September 20, from 7 to 8 pm. For more information or to register, contact Amy Schumann at 794-8756, extension 0. Space is limited, so registration is required.
All programs sponsored by the Bethel Public Library are free, open to the public, and meet accessibility requirements for the disabled. Those needing special accommodation should contact the library at least two weeks prior to the program to make arrangements.
