Free Shakespeare At Beardsley Zoo

BRIDGEPORT — Bridgeport Free Shakespeare’s production of Rostand’s romantic tragic-comedy Cyrano de Bergerac will be performed on the grounds of Connecticut’s Beardsley Zoo late this month and early next.

This year’s series will mark host the seventh annual production of Bridgeport Free Shakespeare, a professional educational theater project that is committed to producing understandable and entertaining performances of Shakespeare’s or other classic plays accessible to a broad range of audience members.

Intern preshows begin at 7 pm, and the main stage show begins at 8 pm. Performances have been scheduled for July 21–23 and 26–30 and August 1–4. The zoo’s Picnic Grove opens at 6 pm for people to enjoy picnic dinners they bring or purchase from the z oo’s concession stands. Attendees should bring blankets and lawn chairs for seating.

The zoo itself is not open for touring during the evening.
