Two Deer Die

Police report two deer died as a result of a motor vehicle accident on the night of March 13 in Hawleyville.

Police said motorist Brian J. Hamilton, 26, of New Fairfield was driving a 1998 Nissan Maxima sedan westbound on Mt Pleasant Road near its intersection with Hawleyville Road just before 10 pm when two deer entered the road.

Hamilton attempted to avoid the animals, but could not, and collided with both deer, killing them, police said.

Hamilton was not injured. There was no enforcement action taken.
