Margaret Watson

Community Volunteer And Cherished Wife

Margaret “Peg” (Fullam) Watson, 77, of Newtown, cherished wife of John A. Watson, died May 18 at Danbury Hospital. She was born in New York City on December 6, 1930, daughter of James and Ruth (Tyler) Fullam.

In the early 1960s Mrs Watson was a private secretary for the president of Newtown Savings Bank, and later was a legal secretary for attorneys Hoffman and Wellman in Danbury. She was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Newtown, where she served as directress of Trinity Altar Guild, and she also volunteered for FISH of Newtown and Meals on Wheels for many years.

In addition to her devoted husband of 47 years, she will be sadly missed by her son, James F. Watson, and his wife, Jill, of Glastonbury; and her daughter, Mary Fisher, and her husband, Eric, of Irvine, Calif.

The family would like to express their sincere appreciation for the loving care given to Mrs Watson by the staff and doctors of the Critical Care Unit (ICU) at Danbury Hospital.

A memorial service will be held at Trinity Episcopal Church in Newtown, Saturday, May 24, at 11 am. There are no calling hours. The Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White Street, Danbury, is in charge of arrangements.
