Annual Fundraising Horse Guard Show Is Scheduled For July 27

The Second Company Governor’s Horse Guard (2GHG) will host its annual fundraising Horse Show on July 27, beginning at 8 am, at the 2GHG facility at Fairfield Hills.

Participants must contact Show Secretary Naomi Gauruder at 203-650-3148, and entries may be downloaded at www.bhcmanagement.com. The 2GHG Horse Show is recognized by the Connecticut Horse Shows Association (CHSA) and the Connecticut Hunter and Jumper Association, (CHJA). Proof of current Coggins and Rabies vaccinations must be shown.

English, Western, Hunt, Pleasure, Lead-line and Driving Classes are available. There will be a food concession in the Pavilion and 2GHG will have a tag sale featuring tack equipment. Spectators are welcome, and should contact 2GHG directly for information.

The Horse Show is a fundraising event. A volunteer, non-profit organization, 2GHG has been serving the citizenry of Connecticut since 1808. 2GHG troopers participate in ceremonial events at the order of either the Governor or the Adjutant General. 2GHG Non-Profit 501(c) 3 Association will also host an Open House on September 14 and a fund-raising trail ride for St. Jude’s Childrens Hospital on November 9. 2GHG appreciates the support of Horse Show participants and spectators.

For more information, contact Training Officer 2LT. Jennifer Mazzara at 203-241-3461, or email her at horseoff@thehorseguard.com. Information is also available at www.thehorseguard.com. The troopers and mounts of the 2GHG remain, as always,  “Ready to Serve.”

The Open Pleasure Driving class, at last year’s show, from left, are: Barbara Gaydas with Kateland’s Cody, Richard Jones with UC Olylmpic Star and Pamela Carroll with Kateland’s Touch of Summer. Payton Green jumps Work of Art.
