?tre et Avoir is a documentary portrait of one-room school in rural France, where the students – ranging in age from 4 to 11 – are educated by a single dedicated mother.

Screenings are presented in the library’s lower meeting room. Call the library, at 426-4533, or Marcy Jackson, 203-263-3502, for additional information.

Anniversary Celebration

Alliance Française of Northwestern Connecticut is inviting the public to join a celebration of the international organization’s 85th anniversary. An anniversary party will be held at The Taft School in Watertown on Saturday, October 7, from 6 to 11 pm. Reservations are requested no later than September 16.

Tickets are $60 per person, and dress will be cocktail attire. Attendees will enjoy Proustian cuisine (beverages, buffet and desserts), while listening and dancing to the music of Cyntia M. & Bistro Blue. There will also be a raffle prize or two awarded.
