Nanista
Joseph S. Nanista, 83, of Seymour, formerly of Danbury, died May 11, at the Griffin Hospital in Derby. He was born August 5, 1928, in Newark, N.J., son of Rosalie (Nodzak) and Joseph Nanista.Â
He was the beloved husband of Irene (Heyeck) Nanista. Besides his wife, Mr Nanista leaves his loving family, including his daughter Kathy Ventresca, and her husband Alfred, of Sandy Hook, and his son Jeffrey Nanista, and his wife Rosemary, of Norwalk; and six grandchildren. Mr Nanista was predeceased by a son, John.
Mr Nanista was a US Navy Veteran of the Korean War, and was a member of the Tin Can Sailors, having served on the USS Henderson.
He was retired from the IBM Corporation, where he was employed for more than 30 years. He was a former Little League Coach, and was a New York Giants football fan.
