It All Together

To the Editor:

 I write to recommend Will Rodgers to the voters as Newtown’s next representative to the state assembly. Will lives down the street from me, and I know him as a proud husband, father, Marine Colonel, local attorney and chairman of Newtown’s Legislative Council.

When called to active duty as a Marine Colonel serving in the Reserves, he sits as a judge in our military courts. As a dedicated Marine, he proudly volunteered to serve in Iraq, where he was stationed from August of 2006 until March of 2007. After protecting our country overseas, he returned to his family and our town to resume his duties on our town council where he has served as chairman for the last five years. As chairman he has sensibly protected Newtown taxpayers from excessive spending proposals with the same sense of duty he showed in Iraq. He will continue to show that same zeal for Newtown taxpayers when he arrives in Hartford where he will fight for our fair share of the state budget. Will has a soldier’s heart, a lawyer’s voice, and a judge’s keen eye for wise choices. We need him to speak for us in the State Legislature, where he is sure to be heard.
