Sign-Ups Open For Kids’

Theater Program

NEW MILFORD — TheatreWorks New Milford is currently accepting applicants from young thespians for its new TheatreWorks Kids after school program.

This theatrical workshop will be offered to budding young performers between the ages of 8 and 17. It will begin on Saturday, September 23, and will run for ten weeks. The schedule will include one 45-minute skills class each week and a three-hour rehearsal on Saturdays.

The program will conclude in early December, when the performers will present their first production the high-energy musical revue, Broadway Rocks! — a compilation of Broadway’s best rock & roll musical numbers from Grease, Footloose, Rent, Movin’ Out, Godspell, and many others. Matinee performances will be held for the public on Saturday and Sunday, December 2 and 3, at 2 pm.

The program will be directed by instructor Beth Bonnabeau-Harding, who is best known for her work in regional children’s theatre and as the instructor for the highly acclaimed Theatre Works Kids summer program, which recently concluded its tenth successful year.

Rehearsal and play production activities will be held on Saturdays from 1 to 4 pm, September 23 through October 14, and then from 9 am until noon, October 21 through December 2.

In addition, the weekly rehearsal schedule will be as follows: ages 8-10, Tuesday 4:15 to 5 pm; ages 10-12, Tuesday 5 to 5:45 pm, and ages 13-17, Wednesday 4:15 to 5 pm.

Tuition is $280 per child on a first-come, first-serve bas is. Siblings will be admitted at $235 per child. In addition, there is a special price for TheatreWorks Kids alumni, who can participate for $265 ($235 for siblings). Applicants who sign up online will save an additional $5.
