Girl Injured In Fall From Boat On Lake Zoar
MONROE â A 12-year-old girl was injured on August 17 after she was ejected from a speedboat that was traveling on the Lake Zoar section of the Housatonic River.
Dennis Schain, a spokesman for the state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection, said this week that the unidentified girl, who lives in Naugatuck, received an injury on her leg from the boatâs propeller after she fell off the boat.
Mr Schain said the injury is not considered to be life-threatening, adding that the girl was transported to Bridgeport Hospital to be treated.
The spokesman said that the girl had been acting as a spotter for a person in a tube that was being towed by the speedboat. The girl apparently fell off the boat when the boat turned into a wake at about 4 pm, he said.Â
