NEW MILFORD â A half-four discussion entitled âGemstone Jewelry and Enamelwork⦠A Look at the Work of Pamela Hochstetter,â will be led by artist Pamela Hochstetter at the shop The Firehouse on Church Street, at 1 pm on Saturday, April 29.
Pamela Hochstetterâs jewelry is currently on display and being offered for sale at The Firehouse on Church Street. Ms Hochstetter, of Bridgewater, is an artist presently working with gemstones, metals and kiln-fired glass enamels.
She will be discussing the materials she works with and the different techniques she utilizes. Among the topics included will be cloisonné, champlevé, Limoges and basse-taille.
Ms Hochstetter brings to her work experience in drawing, design, etching, pottery, watercolors, and more. She earned a master of divinity degree from Yale University in 1991 and has both created and studied the visual arts for most of her life.
From 1980 to 1991 she created and ran Pamela Hochstetter Designs, specializing in handpainted ceramic tile, thrown lamps and handcut shades, hand-crafted cherry tables with tile inlays, and dinnerware. Her work resides in many homes throughout the country.
