Franklin E. Miller

NHS Graduate, Class Of 1949

Franklin E. Miller, 77, died May 5, at William J. Riley Memorial Residence Hospice Hospital in Munster, Ind. He was born January 31, 1931, in Newtown.

Mr Miller grew up in Newtown, and attended Newtown schools, graduating with the Class of 1949.

He graduated from Central Connecticut State University in 1953 and received a master’s degree from the University of Chicago in 1955. He taught English at Bloom High School in Chicago Heights, Ill., for 34 years.

Mr Miller is survived by his brother Gerald Miller and wife, Josephine, of East Orleans, Mass., formerly of Newtown and Naugatuck; sisters, Betsey Lawrence of St Augustine, Fla., and Beverly Wier of Albany, Ore., both formerly of Newtown; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

Services were private.
