The local technology and IT services provider sent an email to its QuickTips subscribers in the Newtown area asking this very question and, in effect, customers answered with myriad responses, indicating data backup would be their top concerns if a disaster were to occur in the Fairfield County area.

“The feedback we received from our local customers was quite interesting. The responses spanned from ‘What is the best data backup and recovery solution?’ to ‘How do I get my system back and running as soon as possible, and as affordable as possible?’” said John Sarra, of CMIT Solutions of Eastern Fairfield County.

According to CMIT Solutions, the top five questions asked by small business owners included:

1. How should I backup my data?

2. Which data do I need to backup?

3. How long does it take to recover the data if necessary?

4. How secure is an offsite data backup?

5. What all is involved in a disaster recovery plan?

“This campaign really adds on to our overall mission to make technology work better for our customers. We try to find different ways where we can really delve into what our customers’ concerns are,” Mr Sarra said. The company provides a free assessment of a company’s technology infrastructure to help a small business owner understand CMIT’s capabilities and establish the foundation of a beneficial partnership.

“Since we received such a large amount of feedback, we would like to share the responses and our expertise on the topic during an upcoming teleseminar,” Mr Sarra said. CMIT Solutions will be referencing the more than 700 responses it received from all of their customers throughout the country during the teleseminar.

CMIT Solutions is offering a limited number of seats for the free teleseminar Thursday, March 27, at 3 pm, to small business owners who are uncertain about the reliability of their current backup system and want to learn more about business continuity.

This teleseminar will instruct attendees how to put a safe, inexpensive system in place. Participants will learn:

*Which backup options are essential to get your business up and running fast after an outage or system failure

*The only way to know for sure that you can quickly recover 100 percent of your data in the event of a disaster

*What most backup providers don’t want you to know about their system that could have you down for days — possibly weeks — trying to restore your data

*What characteristics you should demand from your offsite backup company

*How to completely automate your backup system so you can say goodbye to the hassle of tape rotation, tape storage, and the liability of human error.

Go to the following site to claim a free seat: cmitsolutions.com/eastffldcnty/teleseminar. Seating is limited to the first 48 who register.

Mr Sarra said he will be attending the seminar to gain invaluable information on his customers’ opinions. For information about CMIT Solutions of Eastern Fairfield County, or to learn about the other “Ask Campaign” responses from the Newtown area, call 268-8513.
