Alice V. Godfrey

Member Of The Interior Design Society

Alice V. Godfrey, 86, wife of the late William R. Godfrey, formerly of Newtown, died March 11 in the Glendale Center, Naugatuck. She was born in Riverside, Calif., on March 15, 1919, a daughter of Milton and Nancy (Gray) Roark.

 Mrs Godfrey is survived by her five daughters, Bonnie Beckham and her husband, Charles, of Newtown, Jo-Ann Gunther and her husband, Harold, of Naugatuck, Nancy Edwards and her husband, John, of Pekin, Ind., Corriene Godfrey of Naugatuck, and Victoria Weddington and her husband, James, of Hyrum, Utah. She is also survived by nine grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

Mrs Godfrey was an interior designer for Ethan Allen Interiors of Danbury until her retirement in 1984. She was a member of the Interior Design Society. Mrs Godfrey was a longtime resident of Fairfield County.

Funeral services were held March 15 in the Honan Funeral Home, Newtown. Interment followed in Hillside Cemetery, Wilton.
