Margaret Thomas

Margaret Elizabeth Thomas, 77, of 39 Hillside Road, Southbury, died October 1 at her home. She was the widow of Edward David Thomas.

Mrs Thomas was born January 8, 1926, in Kentucky, daughter of the late John and Carrie (Racer) Steskla. She lived in Bridgeport and Ronceverte, W.Va., before moving to Southbury. She was a former part-owner of The Shoe Place in Newtown. She enjoyed gardening and quilting. She was also an avid motorcyclist and member of Harley Owners Group of Yankee Harley Davidson in Bristol.

She leaves one son, Edward David Thomas of Southbury, one daughter, Sandra Perlman of Woodbury; one brother, Mike Steskla of Devon; one sister, Jane Murdock of Oak Hill, W.Va., five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

A funeral service was held October 4 at Carpino Funeral Home, 750 Main Street South, Southbury. Burial was private.
