Second-Degree Larceny
A Newtown man was arrested Monday on a second-degree larceny warrant.
According to police, Jeffrey Baker, 32, of 21 Beechwood Drive, Sandy Hook, cashed checks in December, January, and February at Peoples Bank that he had stolen from his former employer, Automated Door Systems of Wallingford.
The employer reported the incident in August after discovering three missing checks with a value of $7,581.
Flagpole Fender-Bender
Police responded to a fender bender near the flagpole Monday afternoon and issued an infraction to Jerome Valenta, 60, of 12 Honey Lane, Sandy Hook, for failure to keep a reasonable distance apart.
Valentaâs 1996 Ford Taurus struck the rear of the car driven by Carolyn Denault, 35, of 35 Tunnel Road.
Lawnmower Stolen
Police are investigating the reported October 11 theft of a lawnmower from a residence at 180 Berkshire Road.
