TOES OF FIRE 2, VICTORY 1: Improving their record to 4-0, the Toes of Fire narrowly edged out the Victory. The Victory took a quick lead after a goal in the first half by Kerianne DeCesare. However two second-half goals by Alicia Kulp sealed the win for the Toes of Fire. Playing great games for the Victory were Christina DeCesare, Emma MacHugh and Olga Virgalla. The Toes of Fire were led by the defense of Jacki Gutbrod and Aimee Clavette as well as the midfield play of Laura Reid.

STRIKERS 1, HAWKS 0: Melissa Russell of the Strikers scored the lone goal of the game. Victoria Cardoso was solid in goal and Sarah Greenfield had a strong game at halfback. For the Hawks, Elaine Bomely and Alicia Wolff starred on defense as Shayna Mesko powered the offense.

VICTORY 3, TITANS 1:

Caitlin (Cat) Williams, Jessica Norcross and Elaine McCafferty scored the goals to lead the Victory to the, uh, victory over the Titans. Kerianne DeCesare played near flawlessly in front of the net, and Taylor Johns played well on offense, For the Titans, Lindsey Chimileski scored the goal while Elizabeth Cole and goaltender Vanessa Hansen sparkled the defense Melissa Paytner also played well.

TOES OF FIRE 1, DYNAMITE 0: Improving their record to 5-0, the Toes of Fire narrowly edged out the Dynamite. The Dynamite were led by the goalie play of Danielle Nicolosi, the midfield play of Kelly McPhee and Lindsay Beck, the offense of Megan Anderson and the defense of Mandy Black. The Toes of Fire were inspired by the defense of Chelsea and Madeline Jayson, the goalie play of Jess Halloran, and the midfield play of Michelle Plunkett. The lone goal for the Toes of Fire was scored by Alicia Kulp.

 

GIRLS E

 

RAZORS 4, TIGERS 4: Alanna Gilbert and Jacqui Kirol scored two goals apiece as the Razors tied the Tigers. Maura Gissen and Christine Beck played well. For the Tigers, Melissa Schreiber, Stephanie Soder, Belle Hydock and Danielle Norris all scored goals. Maura McDade and Nicole Grillo had good games.

EAGLES 1, PANTHERS 0: Andrew Hyland scored the lone goal for the Eagles.

COYOTES 2, TORNADOES 0: Kyle Droniak and Joe Cappiello scored for the Coyotes.

ROADRUNNERS 2, HURRICANES 1 (Shootout): Kyle DiNicola scored two goals for the Roadrunners and Ben Spiegel scored once for the ‘Canes in a game that had to be decided by shootout.

LIGHTNING 2, COYOTES 0: Tyler Edwards and Sam Morrison scored one goal apiece to lead the Lightning.

EAGLES 4, ROADRUNNERS 1: Jacob Dauz, Andrew Hyland, Max Paynter and Jonathan Zigman all scored to lead the Eagles to the win. Ian Cooper came through with a goal for the ‘Runners.

HURRICANES 2, PANTHERS 0: Peter Leone and Timmy Lacouture scored to lift the ‘Canes to the win.

ROADRUNNERS 1, TORNADOES 0: Kyle DiNicola scored the lone goal.

COYOTES 3, HURRICANES 1: Gabriel Giusti, Joe Cappiello and George Zaruba all scored for the Coyotes while Christopher Bock scored for the ‘Canes.

LIGHTNING 1, EAGLES 0: Tyler Edwards scored the only goal of the game.

COYOTES 2, ROADRUNNERS 1: Gabriel Giusti scored twice to lift the Coyotes to the win. Ian Cooper tallied once for the ‘Runners.

EAGLES 2, COYOTES 0: Andrew Hyland and Matt Hill scored one goal apiece to lift the Eagles.

LIGHTNING 2, EAGLES 0 (Championship Game): Tyler Edwards scored a pair of goals to lift the Lightning to the tournament championship. Keith McGrath and Steven Jaroszewski shared the shutout in goal.

GIRLS F

 

SCREAMING NIGHTMARES 2, STRIKERS 0: Kaley Kruger and Margaret Cozens scored for the Screaming Nightmares in the fourth quarter to propel them past the Strikers in this tight contest. Andrea Nazer and Cristina Naldini played tough defense for the nightmares. For the Strikers, Jillian Jogoe and Nicole Nonnenmacher moved the ball on offense. Ashley Szabo did a great job on defense.

GIRLS U10

 

North Kingstown, Rhode Island

 

HURRICANES 4, CRANSTON (R.I.) 2: Tania Domingos scored a hat trick, leading the Hurricanes to a decisive victory. Kelly Sullivan also found net as the offense inspired by both Haley Keane and Katie Serock produced numerous scoring opportunities. The last line of defense played by Emily DeMarco and Nora Lynn Shimko kept the team in the lead throughout the contest.

HURRICANES 4, EAST GREENWICH 2: Facing an early deficit, the Hurricanes needed their offense to get into gear. Kelley Sullivan started the drive scoring the initial goal late in the first half on an assist by Genna Scheuerell. Then in the second half, the team shifted into overdrive. Another goal by Kelly Sullivan on a beautiful pass by Megan Hansen tied the score. Cassie David then gave the Hurricanes the lead on an unassisted goal from inside the box. The last of the four unanswered goals was scored by Colleen Thornberg assisted by Emily Weber and Molly Curry.

WARWICK (R.I.) 3, HURRICANES 0: Mother Nature and a strong opponent finally stopped the Hurricanes as they lost their only game in the tournament. Played in a driving rain, the team couldn’t use their speed and finesse to find a crack in the defense. Megan Hansen, Genna Scheuerell, Haley Keane, and Emily Weber performed to the best of their offensive abilities under the circumstances. Kristine Zadrovitz along with Molly Curry played with gritty determination on defense. Emily DeMarco sharing duties with Nora Lynn Shimko were spectacular in goal under the adverse weather conditions and consistent offensive pressure.
