New England Jewish Festival Returning

LITCHFIELD — The 11th annual New England Jewish Festival, a celebration of Jewish life, will take place Sunday and Monday of Labor Day weekend, August 31 and September 1. Doors open at 11:30 am at White Memorial conservation, 80 Whitehall Road.

An eclectic mix of people from various backgrounds will gather to enjoy and celebrate the rich cultural experience of Jewish life. This event draws people from all over New England and New York for a day of various exhibitions of Jewish music, art, Judaica, and crafts. Organizers remind everyone:” You don’t have to be Jewish to join us at this festival of unity.”

Top Jewish musicians from around the world will be performing klezmer, hip hop, Israeli, Jewish country, Jewish jazz, classical, and more. For the full program schedule, visit JewishFest.org

Glatt kosher food will be available throughout the festival. A large selection of Jewish art and Judaica, as well as all the New Year needs, will be for sale.

Lessons in Jewish craft making for children and adults will be ongoing throughout the festival. Participants can learn to make their own Hanukkah menorah, havdalah candle, Shofar, yarmulke, bake a challah, or design Jewish sand art.

The festival will be presented rain or shine, and bringing blankets or lawn chairs is suggested.
