Sea Scout Open House For New Members

BETHEL — Sea Scout Ship 110 will hold an open house for prospective members on Saturday, March 18, from 2 to 4 pm, at 6 Francis Clarke Circle, located off Route 53 in Bethel.

Sea Scouting is a co-education program, part of Boy Scouts of America, offered to young adults between the ages of 14 and 21. Ship 110 has members from the Bethel, Redding, and Newtown area and sails the 35-foot ocean racer Not By Bread Alone out of Captain’s Cove Seaport in Bridgeport. The vessel was donated by the local Boy Scouts of America council and is maintained members of Ship 110. The group also has three smaller sail boats and a dinghy.

The group sails every week throughout the summer, including overnight cruises and Wednesday night races.
