Master Chorale Announces Season
The Connecticut Master Chorale, under the direction of Tina Johns Heidrich, has completed planning for its 2006-07 concert season.
On November 19, the Chorale will present its annual Holiday Prelude Concert at St Maryâs Church in Bethel. The program will feature Gwyneth Walkerâs âRejoice â Christmas Songs,â a medley including an innovative setting of Christina Rosettiâs poem âLove Came Down at Christmas,â and ending with a triumphant rendition of âGood Christian Friends, Rejoice!â Also on the program is music with steel drums, brass ensemble, spirituals, gospel, lullabies, and multi-cultural numbers.
On March 11, 2007, the Chorale will perform Karl Jenkinsâ âAdiemusâ and his newly released âRequiem.â Additionally, his âRequiemâ was published in 2005 and it is absolutely breathtaking. Also on the program will be the exuberant âBless Ye the Lordâ by Ralph Vaughan Williams.
