Occupation: I’m a financial advisor with Morgan Stanley in Westport.

Family: My mother, father, brother, and sister all are in Wilton, where I grew up. I’m the only one in Newtown.

Pets: I have a Yorkshire terrier, Molly. She was a dog my sister absolutely had to have five years ago. She flew her in from Ireland. When it wasn’t a good fit, I inherited Molly. She became my labor of love. She wouldn’t be my first pick for a dog, but she’s great.

How long have you lived in Newtown? I’ve lived here since the summer of 2009. I was looking for houses smack in the middle of my master’s program and was ready to hang it up. My realtor said there was one house in Newtown she wanted me to see, and I thought, “Where the heck is Newtown? Seriously!” That was the house I made the offer on.

What do you like to do in your free time? I spend a lot of time working on my house. I’ve done so much renovation it’s barely the same house I bought. I’m a musician, so I spend a lot of time playing with a loose collection of friends, and I write and play some of my own music. And “Live At The Edmond Town Hall” has become a big part of what I do here, the fundraising music series I am producing. The next one will feature Brown Bird, in August. I’m a runner and I’ll do 10Ks or half-marathons. I love film. I’m a huge film buff.

Do you have a favorite movie? The Spirit of the Beehive by Victor Erice. It’s a 1973 film the takes place in Spain. It uses the whole Frankenstein tale as an allegory for the Spanish Civil War. And I’m obsesses with the Criterion collection.

Do you have a favorite travel destination? It’s got to be Nantucket. My parents had a house there from the time I was a baby until I was about 15 years old. I spent a lot of summers there. There’s a nostalgic recollection of simpler times when I go back. I still like to go to Nantucket at least once every summer.

What is the best thing about Newtown? I love Main Street. I think that’s what hit me first, the architecture and the feel. In so many towns in Fairfield County the big businesses have taken over the center of the town. Our Main Street touches on something a lot of those towns don’t have anymore.

Who has been the greatest influence in your life? It’s got to be my father, without a doubt. Not only is he a role model, but he’s like a best friend. That’s a relationship we’ve always had, a real steady relationship. I couldn’t do the “Live At The Edmond Town Hall” shows without him. He volunteers and fills in wherever he can.

Do you have a personal philosophy? It is always best to try to do something yourself rather than rely on a larger body to take care of it, whether it is religion or government or whatever. It’s not just about self-sufficiency. You can do something for others through your own interests. Everybody should take their own expertise to help others out.

Do you have a guilty pleasure? I don’t feel guilty about any of my pleasures! I like my cigars and I like my whiskey!
