Reminders From The Registrars

To the Editor:

The Registrar of Voters office would like to give a few Election Day reminders:

1. The last day to register to vote is October 28. This must be done in person (you personally, not your spouse or parent dropping it off). Our office is open Saturday 9 am to noon and on Tuesday (the last day) from 9 am until 8 pm.

2. www.newtown-ct.gov has a button called “Where do I vote?” Use this feature to see which polling place you will be voting at. Don’t waste your fuel going to the wrong polling place.

3. There is a no campaigning area starting at 75 feet outside the polls. There cannot be any party or candidate anything showing. It must be concealed once you enter that area. Please take care of this so we don’t have to speak to you about it. This is the law.

4. The polls are open 6 am until 8 pm. We are the busiest after 4 pm. Please have your ID ready when you get to the checker and the lines will move faster.

We have tried to arrange our poll workers so that we should not have long waits. We look forward to seeing you at the polls.

Sincerely,

LeReine Frampton and Karin Aurelia
