Herzog On American Financial History

FAIRFIELD — John Herzog, a founder of The Museum of Financial History in New York City, will present an illustrated lecture entitled “American Dreams” at Fairfield Historical Society on Sunday, November 14, at 2 pm.

Mr Herzog’s talk, which will focus on some outstanding financial events in history, is drawn from themes explored in the society’s current exhibit, “For What It’s Worth! Money, Barter & Banks in Early Fairfield.” Visitors are invited to tour the exhibit following the presentation.

Mr Herzog is currently chairman of R.M. Smythe & Company, one of the nation’s leading numismatic auction firms. The firm specializes in historic collectible stock and bond certificates as well as a wide range of financial antiques, coins, banknotes, autographs of all kinds, and vintage photographs.

Admission is $7 per person. Fairfield Historical Society is at 636 Old Post Road, opposite Fairfield Town Hall. For information and reservations, call the society at 203-259-1598.
