Ashlar Plans Autumn Leaves Auction And Dinner Dance Gala

Ashlar of Newtown will host its third “Autumn Leaves Auction & Dinner Dance” on November 19 at the Trumbull Marriott.

At this semiformal event, guests will enjoy a silent auction during the cocktail hour and sit down dinner followed by a live auction and dancing. On the auction block are two round-trip tickets anywhere in the United States on Independence Air coupled with round-trip limousine service provided by Morano Limousine Service and a Mount Snow getaway. Themed baskets such as “Death by Chocolate,” “Inn at Newtown,” “Fireside Inn,” “Collector’s Basket,” and so much are highlights of the silent auction.

This year’s event will help support a variety of programs and services for the residents of Ashlar of Newtown. Services and programs which will benefit from the proceeds of this year’s gala include: free Summer Sounds Concerts, monthly educational programs on health and wellness, intergenerational programs with area schools and volunteer programs involving children, students and adults.

Over the past two years, the Autumn Leaves Auction & Dinner Dance has contributed more than $57,000 toward amenities that enhance the residents’ quality of life, such as a newly constructed greenhouse, walking trail around the picturesque pond, a chapel for personal reflection, outdoor patios, and a gift shop and café.

Ashlar of Newtown is a not-for-profit, 156-bed skilled nursing facility, which offers long-term care and short-term rehabilitation as well as services to meet the physical, social, emotional, and spiritual needs of older adults. As an affiliate of Masonicare, it continues a tradition of excellence established more than 100 years ago. Lockwood Lodge, a 49-unit assisted living community, is also located on the Ashlar campus.
