Grace and Glorie is the story of the relationship between ninety year old Grace and the woman who becomes her companion, Gloria Whitman, or âGlorieâ as Grace calls her. This moving, life affirming relationship takes place in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia.
Grace has outlived her husband and children, sold the family farm, and lives out her remaining days in a rustic cottage. The seemingly mismatched pair learns to trust each other and provide each other the courage and strength to face their secret hopes and sorrows.
The play is not particularly suited to very young audiences.
Admission is $10 for adults and $8 for students in middle and high school.
Proceeds from admission to Grace And Glorie will be donated to Three Towns for Sar-E Pol, a nonpartisan, humanitarian effort by residents of Washington, Bridgewater and Roxbury to provide aid for women and children in Afghanistan. Working through Save the Children based in Westport, Three Towns for Sar-E Pol is striving to provide support for immunization and health-care programs for this war-weary province.
