Being a New York Giant fan, of course I was trumpeting the idea that they would be one of the best teams in the National Football League and had a real shot at winning a Super Bowl championship.

Usually, that stuff is just bluster. But this time I really believed it.

They are proving me wrong … dead wrong. A pathetic defense that couldn’t stop a Pop Warner-level passing game and an offense (supposedly ‘high-powered’) that can’t figure out where the end zone might be hiding.

The Giants are 2-3 while the hated Dallas Cowboys (gah – can you believe it?) lead the division at 4-1.

I just know the Giants will lost to the Eagles this week. I know Donovan McNabb had looked really bad lately, but a mediocre passer like him is just the kind of guy who has a career day against the Giants’ defense.

Oh, where is L.T. when we need him?

Well, on to the picks –

Redskins (+2.5) over the Bills

Giants (-3) over the Eagles

Cowboys (-3) over the Lions

Chargers (+5) over the Browns

Ravens (-2.5) over the Bengals

Vikings (-3) over the Broncos

Panthers (-2.5) over the Titans

Saints (pick) over the Falcons

Dolphins (-5.5) over the Patriots

Rams (-3) over the Packers

Jets (-2.5) over the Texans

Seahawks (-10) over the Bears

Bucs (-3.5) over the 49ers

Chiefs (-3.5) over the Raiders

Last week: 8-6-0

Total: 50-34-4
