Holocaust Survivors To Meet October 28
Holocaust Survivors To Meet October 28
WOODBURY â Holocaust survivors and children of survivors are invited to a breakfast meeting on Sunday, October 28, at 10 am at the Federation-Jewish Communities of Western Connecticut, 73 Main Street South.
This will be a social gathering, a time for people to share news, views, and stories about themselves. The second generation is especially invited to talk about their experiences growing up.
Brownstein Jewish Family Service started the Second Generation and Holocaust Survivors Group more than three and a half years ago for people who want to get together to discuss issues connected with being Holocaust survivors or the children of survivors. Guest speakers and members of the group talk about many topics, including their stories and experiences during the war and how to educate future generations about the Holocaust.
Several times each year the group invites the public to meetings. On Sunday, November 18, several teachers from area middle schools and high schools will discuss their approaches to integrating Holocaust education into their schoolsâ curriculum. Teachers, parents, and anyone interested in this topic are welcome to attend that program.
The October 28 program for survivors and second generation is free of charge, but reservations are requested. For more information or to RSVP, contact Debby Horowitz, program direct of Brownstein Jewish Family Service at 203-263-5121, extension 304.
