Is Uncle Sam Truly An Offense?
Is Uncle Sam
Truly An Offense?
To the Editor:
There must be more important tasks for the land officials of Newtown to attend to! I have no clue what the zoning or commercial laws are in town, but do you really think that after having a business in town for many years, that Mr Payne came up with this ploy to attract more customers? Does a sign honoring Tom Richmond, a taxpaying Newtown resident, deserve an added fine? I donât know Lieutenant Colonel OâHanlon, but I do know that Tom Richmond, when not serving our country, or working as a Lieutenant for the Westport Fire Department, resides in Newtown.
As a side note, Tom Richmond and the Payne family have been friends for a long time. If putting a sign up to honor Tom and Lt Col OâHanlon is truly an offense that deserves an added fine, I will be happy to help pay part of the fine.
P.S. Is the 30-foot inflatable Santa Claus I am putting up in my yard this holiday season going to get me in trouble?
Respectfully,
