Thanks For So Much Support
Thanks For So Much
Support
To the Editor:
A big thank you goes out to everyone who attended our first community Kids For A Cure family movie night last Friday evening, May 9, at Reed Intermediate School. We had a great turnout!
A big thank you goes to Reed Intermediate School and their day and nighttime custodial staff â they were very helpful and pleasant to work with. Thanks also goes to Tim McGuire, who helped get our movie set up so it would run smoothly.
Additional thanks goes to Caraluzziâs and Big Y grocery stores for their donations; without them we wouldnât have had the success we did.
A very special thank you goes to Tom Mahoney, theater manager at Edmond Town Hall, who helped provide advice and âback upâ support in case we ran out of popcorn or candy!
We hope everyone will register their children to be part of Kids For A Cure, which will take place from 3 pm to 5 pm immediately prior to Relay For Life, June 7. Elementary-aged children will walk the track as well as play educational games. We know that two-thirds of all cancer is preventable, so Kids For A Cure was organized so we could emphasize what our wonderful schools are currently teaching students in regard to eating healthy, getting enough exercise, protection from the sunâs harmful rays, and avoiding tobacco use. Please contact your childâs public elementary school for more information regarding Kids For A Cure, or contact relayforlifeofnewtown@gmail.com
Thank you Newtown for providing so much support to Relay For Life and Kids For A Cure!
