Florence (Lutheran) Qualey, 88, of Newtown, died on September 19 surrounded by her loving family. She was the widow of Christian H. Qualey. Born in Bridgeport to Stephen and Anna Lutheran, she had been a Bridgeport resident for many years.
She is survived by her beloved son, Christian H. Qualey, Jr and his wife, Judi, of Newtown; one brother, Rudolph Lutheran of Stratford; three grandchildren, Christian III, Eric, and Jennifer; one great-grandson; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her four sisters, Rose, Josephine, Mae, and Cecelia.
Mrs Qualey and her husband had relocated to Virginia 40 years ago. She returned to Connecticut five years ago and resided at Spring Meadows in Trumbull where she enjoyed the many friends she made there.
Friends are invited to attend the funeral on Saturday, September 23, at 9:15 am, in Pistey Funeral Home, 2155 Main Street in Stratford, and at 10 am in St Ambrose Church, 1596 Boston Avenue in Bridgeport, with a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be in St Michaelâs Cemetery.
