Leaders Need To Engage The Voters
Leaders Need To Engage The Voters
To the Editor:
The latest budget referendum failed by the largest margin ever. This is a tremendous failure by our elected officials â either the voters donât believe these boards did their jobs in vetting and building the final budget proposal, or our elected officials didnât do a good job of communicating why the budget proposal was fully vetted. I choose to believe the latter.
Good communication is a leadership function. Please do a better job of explaining to voters why the budget you propose is the right budget for Newtown. You wanted the job, now take responsibility and ownership for your budget proposals, explain them to us, and engage the voters!
