The childrenâs department of the Cyrenius H. Booth Library has received a check for $1,221.45 to enhance its collection through the purchase of childrenâs classics and award-winning books.
On Monday, November 15, Childrenâs Librarian Alana Meloni received the check from Friends of the C.H. Booth Library Vice President Denise Kaiser.
The money was collected during the Labor Day Book Sale in four donation jars earmarked for childrenâs books.
âI was totally surprised,â Ms Meloni said. âNot only do they do this wonderful book sale, but I was amazed by the support they have for this department.
âItâs important we have a strong collection,â she said. âI have a list. I want to buy books that have merit and add depth to our collection. I want to buy things that challenge kids.â
Ms Kaiser thanked those who supported the sale and made a donation to the childrenâs department, noting, âIt was an opportunity to bolster the childrenâs collection.â
