Railway Museum Continues Wednesday Night Events

DANBURY — A series of special Wednesday evening events will continue to be presented at Danbury Railway Museum through the winter and into early spring.

Presentations and clinics run from 7:30 to approximately 8:30 pm at the museum, which is at 120 White Street. Admission is free and all are welcome.

The current schedule is as follows: January 24, J.W. Swanberg will present “New Haven Railroad”; January 31, Ron Smith, “Danbury and The Railroad”; February 7, Bill Sepe, “Friends of the Poughkeepsie Bridge”; February 14, Bill Silberbauer will discuss model locomotive maintenance; February 21, Peter McLachlan will discuss the New Haven Railroad; and February 28, Gerry Herrmann, “New York, Central and Long Island Fan Trips.”

The series continues in March with a return by Peter McLachlan on March 7 with “New York, New Haven and Hartford”; March 14, Peter Cornwall, “Danbury and Norwalk Railroad”; and March 21, Steve Mayerson, “Weather or Not #3.

Dan Foley will be the guest speaker on March 28 and Ron Smith will be the guest on April 4; their slide show topics will be announced at a later date.

Danbury Railway Museum is a non-profit organization, staffed solely by volunteers. It is dedicated to the preservation of, and education about, railroad history.
