DWI Patrols Slated

Police plan to have extra patrols on duty during a five-day period including the Independence Day holiday to keep drunken drivers off local roads.

Police plan to have extra patrolmen on the lookout for intoxicated motorists from Friday, June 30, through Tuesday, July 4.

The patrolling officers also will be enforcing laws on the use of seat belts and child safety seats.

The heightened enforcement effort is partially funded by a law enforcement grant.
