Ms Knox will explore close up the many varieties of flowering shrubs found in the Ferriday garden and guide students through a simple step-by-step process of rendering a finished watercolor of one of these lovely blooming plants. Lilacs will be in bloom as well as Azaleas, Fothergilla, Mock Orange, Carolina Allspice, and more. All skill levels are welcome.
Participants should bring a bag lunch.Â

A member of the American Society of Botanical Artists, Betsy Rogers-Knox studied at the New York School of Visual Arts, the University of Colorado, and the New York Botanical Garden. Her work has been exhibited locally as well as in an internationally juried show at the 2006 New York Horticultural Society.
Through September Ms Rogers-Knox will teach monthly workshops - each focused on a different plant or botanical theme in the Ferriday Garden. The next two-day workshop, on Thursday and Friday, June 14-15, from 10 am to 3 pm each day, will focus on the historic rose collection.
