To the Editor:

The importance of next month’s election has prompted me to write a brief but sincere letter of support for Will Rodgers. I had the pleasure of serving with Will when he first came on the Legislative Council. Will immediately established himself as an active member from day one. He rolled his sleeves up and worked in a bipartisan style. It’s great to see that some things have not changed. He continues to work with the entire council as chairman, and doesn’t “pass the gavel” until all points of view have been expressed by the other 11 council members.

When I served on the Board of Selectman, Will could always be counted on to work with the selectman to forge new ideas and overall strategy for the betterment of Newtown. His experience as an attorney has proven invaluable with interpreting intentions and nuances with proposals and potential ordinances.

Finally, I want to say that in these turbulent economic times I want a fiscally conservative state representative in Hartford who has the experience, discipline, and confidence in his decisions to represent Newtown for the next two years.
