Flu Shot Clinics Planned

The Bethel Visiting Nurse Association will be holding a series of flu shot clinics in surrounding towns beginning October 7 and lasting until November 18, including many in Newtown.

To get the flu shot you must be age 18 or over, not allergic to eggs or egg products, and must be feeling well.

Bethel VNA will bill Aetna, Anthem BC/BS, ConnectiCare, Oxford and Medicare Part B, otherwise the cost of the flu shot is $35 and a pneumonia shot is $52. Bring insurance cards and wear short sleeves for shots.

October 7, at Newtown Senior Center, 14 Riverside Road, 9 am and noon;

October 14, Bethel Senior Center, 1 School Street, 9 am to 1 pm;

October 16, Newtown Health District office, Peck’s Lane, 9 am to noon;

October 21, Newtown Senior Center, 14 Riverside Road, 9 am to noon;

October 31, Newtown Savings Bank main branch, 39 Main Street, 10 am to 2 pm;

November 1, Newtown Savings Bank, Dolan Plaza, 146 Greenwood Avenue in Bethel, 10 am to noon;

November 8, Newtown Savings Bank-Sand Hill Plaza branch, 228 Main Street South; 10 am to noon;

November 13, Caraluzzi’s Newtown Market, Church Hill Road, 10 am to noon;

November 18, Bethel Senior Center, within Bethel Municipal Center, 1 School Street, 9 am to noon.
