Celebrate Youth Month

Many thanks to all the talented performers who participated in our 19th Annual Talent Show and thank you to all who braved the miserable weather to attend.

Parents Groups

Hope and Support meets on Monday evenings from 7:30 to 9:30. If you are a parent or guardian with questions or concerns about your child’s possible or confirmed involvement with substances, you are welcome to attend this group

Grandparents’ Group — “The Second Time Around: Raising Your Children’s Children” is an on-going support program. This group meets from noon to 1:30 pm every Monday. There is no fee.

Youth Programs

Cullen’s Nature Camp will be held the week of June 26. Children finishing grades K through 2 meet from 9:30 to 11 am and children finishing grades 3 through 5 meet from 11:30 am to 1 pm. The cost is $60. This camp fills very quickly, so please call NYS to reserve a spot.

HSYAB will meet on Monday, May 22, 2 pm, in the high school cafeteria.

NYCAAP meets on Wednesday, 7 to 8 pm at the high school.

Children of Divorce will meet on Monday, May 22, from 6 to 7 pm.

SibShops will have their last meeting on Monday, June 12, from 5 to 7 pm.

NYS Awards

Gail Smith Awards will be presented on Monday, May 22, at 7 pm, at the Booth Library. These awards are given to one adult, one youth, and one business that have shown an outstanding contribution and leadership for the betterment of youth in Newtown.
