Three-Lot Subdivision Approved
The Planning and Zoning Commission (P&Z) has approved a three-lot subdivision
on 16 acres at the intersection of Mt Pleasant Road and Taunton Lake Road.
The P&Z endorsed the residential subdivision in a 3-to-1 vote on November 21.
The applicants are Paul and Dolores Allen.
The approval comes on the condition that the applicants indicate a water well
location on a map and provide slope easements.
Members James Boylan, Daniel Fogliano and Heidi Winslow voted in favor of the
motion. Member Thomas Paisley opposed it.
Mr Paisley explained his opposition to the subdivision.
"The uncertainty of the whole situation there... leaves it that we may be
subdividing something that already has been sold," he said. Only the legal
owners of properties are eligible to subdivide those properties.
The 16-acre parcel has been the focus of legal and financial uncertainties in
recent months.
P&Z members held a public hearing November 7 on the Allen's request to create
a subdivision. The property now contains one house.
