Occupation: I am a community service volunteer.

How Long Lived in Town: I have lived in Newtown for five years. We moved here

from New Egypt, N.J., which had a population of about 1,000. It's nice to be

in a larger town. I love Connecticut. My best friend lives in Connecticut. I

always said I would end up here.

Biggest Change In Town: Newtown is a very transient town. Every year we lose

so many people. I'm also surprised by the number of women at home. There is a

big network of people home during the day.

Family: My husband, Bill, and I have been married for 12 years. He works as a

computer manager for a disaster recovery company, Comdisco, in Norwalk. We

have three children, Jonathan, 10, Alison, 4, and Julia, 10 months.

Pets: I have one dog, 7, named Tails. My son has a bearded dragon lizard,

named Spike. He named both pets.

Hobbies: I do aerobics, biking, hiking and photography.

Books: I like to read. My favorite authors are Mary Higgins Clark and Nicholas

Sparks, who wrote The Notebook and Message in the Bottle.

Organizations: I am a member and former president of W.I.N. (Women Involved in

Newtown) and the Newtown Newcomers. I am a driver for Meals on Wheels three

times a month, and was just appointed to the Board of Directors of Meals on

Wheels. I am now the chairman of civic and community groups and breakfast club

for Newcomers. I also head up the Easter basket project. I am a member of St

Rose Church and am the hospitality chairman for the Middle Gate PTA. I like to

do things that help other people. It's my passion in life. When I deliver

Meals on Wheels or help others, I think that could be me in a few years. I

like to network and volunteer.

Most Vivid Memory of Newtown: This is a great town for volunteers. People are

generous here. It's a nice town. I'm always asking people for things for

Thrifty Threads or collecting things to take to Danbury.

Philosophy: Don't sweat little things. Don't worry. Life is too short.
