NANTUCKET SECTION: You Are Invited To Spend A Summer's Day

...at the Nantucket Historical Association August Antique Show, a New England,

Cape Cod and Nantucket tradition; an old-fashioned show, one for which dealers

secret away treasures for months in advance; the show worthy of Nantucket, on

the only island worthy of this show; in support of one of New England's most

extraordinary causes, the Nantucket Historical Association; a flagship show of

the Antiques Council, with all the highest standards of professional

excellence, rigorous screening and dedication to education that we bring to

the management of antique shows.

This August we welcome two new dealers. Le Cabinet Scientifique, Ltd., Philip

W. Pfeifer, joins us after twenty years at his legendary shop on Madison

Avenue (he is now based in Lahaska, Pa). Famed for scientific instruments and

models, walking sticks, snuff boxes, ivory pieces and unusual furniture,

Philip is an intriguing and important addition. Tracing their firm's heritage

back several generations, Vose Gallery, with a national and international

reputation as painting dealers extraordinaire, join us from Newbury Street in

Boston. To celebrate Vose's arrival, we are focusing this section on the

painting medium, with articles from Vose and our own two long-standing,

distinguished painting dealers: Chew & Formicola of Rosemont, Pa., and The

Cooley Gallery of Old Lyme, Conn.

Put the sea back in sea-change, and join us for what promises to be the most

exciting, elegant and high energy show in our long and distinguished history.

As the calendar this year puts us a week before the New Hampshire marathon of

events, make the NHA August Antique Show your first stop in New England.
