CT Master Choral At St Edward’s

NEW FAIRFIELD — On Sunday, February 4, at 3 pm, Music at St. Edward’s will continue its 16th concert season with a performance by Connecticut Master Chorale. The program will explore the music of faith from a variety of perspectives, from classical and opera to jazz and Broadway.

Founded and directed by Tina Johns Heidrich the chorale is now in its second season. The chorale is comprised of 55 select, highly gifted, auditioned singers from over 20 towns in Connecticut and New York who share in the joy of making beautiful music together.

The exceptional talent and commitment of each singer enables swift mastery of the music, allowing the ensemble to perform several professional-level concerts each year. Joseph Jacovino is accompanist for the chorale.

Among the works to be included in Sunday afternoon’s performance will be Let All the World in Every Corner Sing! by Ralph Vaughan Williams, The Lord is My Shepherd by Thomas Matthews, Pie Jesu from Andrew Lloyd Weber’s Requiem, arrangements from Puccini’s Messa di Gloria, Madame Butterfly, Gianni Schicchi and Tosca, and choral selections from Dave Brubeck’s To Hope! A Celebration.

St Edward’s Church is at the intersection of Gillotti and Barnum roads in New Fairfield. Refreshments will be served in the church hall following the performance.

Admission to the concert will be at no charge to the public, but freewill donations will be gratefully accepted and acknowledged. Contact the church at 746-6032 or 746-5808 for additional information.
