The Ukrainian Cultural Organization of Greater Danbury will present a demonstration of how to make Easter eggs known as pysanka from 2 to 4 pm, on Sunday, April 9.
The program will be held at the home of Olga Paproski, at 5 Hattertown Road in Newtown.
Each participant is asked to bring two white whole raw eggs, unblemished, and at room temperature, a soft lead pencil, two short candles in candleholder, and a small towel. Other supplies will be available to purchase. Each participant will also be asked to make a $5 donation.
All ages are welcome to learn about the beautiful Ukrainian Easter egg, the pysanka, its history and traditions, symbols, and make a cherished pysanka in the wax-resist technique utilizing the Kistka, beeswax, and dyes.
