Youth Programs
Children of Divorce â Will meet twice a month on Monday evenings from 6 to 7 pm at Newtown Youth Services. Next dates are November 6 and 20. This group is open to students in grades one through six.
Sibshops â This group is for children who have a brother or sister with special needs. First meeting will be Monday, October 30, from 5 to 7 pm, also for students in grades one through six. The group will also meet November 27. There is no fee for either of the above groups.
The High School Youth Advisory Board (YAB) will meet on Monday, November 6, at 2 pm, in the high school cafeteria.
Parent Programs
Gym Time â Walkers to preschool will meet on Thursdays at the Edmond Town Hall gym from 9:30 to 11:30 am and the fee is $30. Space is still available for this program.
Support Groups
A Blended Family Support Group is being organized for parents, partners, and children in grades five to eight. Please join us at the NYS office at 10 Glen Road in Sandy Hook for an informational meeting on Wednesday, November 1, from 7 to 8 pm, to learn about this group. No obligation and no fee. Refreshments will be served. RSVP to Nancy Anderson at NYS at 270-4335 by October 30.
Hope and Support meets on Mondays from 7:30 to 9:30 pm. Parents or guardians with questions or concerns about a childâs possible or confirmed involvement with substances are welcome to attend this group. The Hope Group will not meet on school holidays, during school breaks or on snow days.
Grandparentsâ Group â The Second Time Around: Raising Your Childrenâs Children is an ongoing support program that meets Wednesdays, noon to 1:30 pm. There is no fee.
