Lillinonah Audubon Hosts Ask-The-Legislators Forum

Southbury — What do you think should be done to protect Connecticut’s environment? Are we doing enough or too little? These are some of the questions that will be addressed at a Legislative Forum scheduled for Sunday, November 20, from 2:30 to 4 pm at the Audubon Center at Bent of the River.

The 2006 General Assembly begins in early February and runs until early May. In preparation, Audubon is hosting a forum where citizens can bring questions and concerns about environmental issues to discuss with state legislators. Senator Louis DeLuca, Representative Arthur O’Neil, and Representative David Labriola, among others, will be participating in the event.

The forum is sponsored by the Lillinonah Chapter of the National Audubon Society and the Stewardship Board of the Bent of the River, and the sponsor requests help in spreading the word to friends, family, neighbors and colleagues. Light refreshments will be served. Call Sandy Breslin at 264-5098 for further information.

The Audubon Center at Bent of the River is at 185 East Flat Hill Road. Take Exit 14 off I-84 and turn left onto Route 172 north. Go through the light into South Britain and watch for East Flat Hill Road on the left (after the Country Store and before the Congregational Church). The Audubon Center entrance and parking area is a short distance on the left.
