Bethel Library Radio Series

BETHEL — Bethel Public Library will offer an airing of the classic 1938 radio broadcast of H.G. Wells’s The War of the Worlds on Tuesday, October 28, from 7 to 9 pm. The program will take place in the alcove of the library’s temporary location at 137 Greenwood Avenue.

This memorable broadcast features Orson Welles and the Mercury Theatre of the Air.

The event is the first in the library’s series of “Old Time Radio Nights,” featuring CD and cassette versions of favorite radio programs from the 1930s and 1940s. The series is a fundraiser for Bethel Public Library, and is sponsored by the library’s board of directors Capital Campaign Committee.

“Old Time Radio Nights” are open to all, and a donation of $5 per person is being suggested by the library. Refreshments will be available for purchase. For more information contact the library at 794-8756, extension 4.
