Mr And Mrs Harold E. Gross, Jr

Margaret Lucia Jepsen and Harold Edward Gross, Jr, were married May 13 at Trinity Church in Newtown by the Rev Kathleen E. Adams-Shepherd.

Sheela Amembal of Newtown was the bride’s matron of honor, and Edward Harold Gross, brother of the groom and resident of Sparta, N.J., was the best man. He also was the couple’s best man in 1970 when they were first married in East Orange, N.J.

Lectors/readers were Debbie Gaboriault of Newtown, Jennifer Gross, niece of the groom, and Carol Recht of Newtown. The usher was Brian Recht of Newtown.

The bride is the clerk of the Newtown Probate Court, and the groom is president of US Synthetics Corp, a chemical trading company.

The couple reunited during a summer project at her 1758 Connecticut farmhouse on “Ram Pasture.” The project was installing a picket fence, or, as was coined by a dear friend, mending fences. The fence building went on through the fall and the couple installed 28 eight foot sections of fence, during which time their relationship mended.

A catered reception was held at their home on Ram Pasture immediately following the ceremony, with a medley of Bach and Beethoven played by Bill Wolaver.
