Albert J. Zitnay
Albert J. Zitnay, 87, beloved husband of Ruth Sweeney Zitnay of Stratford, passed away peacefully on October 24 at Bridgeport Hospital.
Mr Zitnay was born in Bridgeport on September 3, 1916, and was the son of the late Stephen and Mary Yacko Zitnay. He was a retired foreman for Apex Tool Co. where he worked for 39 years.
In addition to his devoted wife Ruth of 49 years, he is survived by his son, Robert J. Zitnay of Stratford; three brothers, Marshall Zitnay of Newtown, Stephen Zitnay of San Diego, Calif., John Zitnay and his wife, Terry, of Palm Beach, Fla.; his sister-in-law, Irene B. Zitnay, of Milford; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers George Zitnay and Michael Pokrivnak.
Funeral services were held on October 29 in the Galello-Luchansky Funeral Home, 2189 Barnum Avenue, Stratford, and at the Holy Name of Jesus Church where a Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated. Interment followed in St Michaelâs Cemetery.
